Inflammatory acne

Over the years, we have primarily used it to treat inflammatory acne. Other types of acne are not treated with it.

It is generally not recommended if there is any trace of pigmentation after acne.

Aesthetics & Tattoo Removal

It is possible to remove tattoos using our picosure laser.

In terms of aesthetics, LED technology complements our customized treatments by improving the skin, making it healthier and stimulating collagen production.

Furthermore, in the case of sensitive skin or after an abrasive treatment, redness is very quickly reduced by LED light.

LED in post-operative care

Doctor SMARRITO advises theuse of LEDs in the postoperative period after surgical procedures such as the facelift, rhinoplasty, liposuction ou cryoliposuction by varying the protocols.

We observed a very rapid improvement in post-operative bruising thanks to LEDs.

LED

What is it about ?

LEDs, or light-emitting diodes, produce light without generating heat. The spectrum of the LED strip is identical to that of a laser.

However, the energy delivered by an LED is less than that of a laser. The LEDs we use at the RIVIERAclinic are monochromatic. That is to say, the LED's color indications depend on the indications and the desired processing.

Each color penetrates the epidermis and dermis differently, resulting in a different clinical effect. NASA was the first to highlight the benefits of LEDs for wound healing.

This healthcare technology is present at the RIVIERAclinic For the past 10 years, LEDs have proven effective in treating many conditions. For example, we observe a significant improvement in inflammatory acne. Furthermore, they are part of our expert treatments because they reduce excessive redness after laser or other skincare procedures within minutes.

LED

A scientifically proven action

The LED acts at the level of the cell mitochondria. It specifically targets cytochrome c oxidase, an enzyme. Thus, the LED stimulates this enzyme, which is involved in the production of ATP. ATP is, in a way, the fuel, the energy source of the cell. Then, in the case of aesthetic medicine, the cell will produce fibroblasts and type II collagen.

As with lasers, the effect depends on the wavelength and intensity of the LED. Each LED color has a different effect.

“I’ve seen an amazing effect of LEDs post-operatively on bruising, but also after a facial treatment. The skin may be red, and in a few minutes, the redness will fade. Our patients with inflammatory acne are also very happy with the LED sessions, which are therapeutic. That’s why we’ve reduced the cost of sessions for this condition, to help our patients.”

r

side effects and contraindications

For once in aesthetic medicine, LEDs have no contraindications or side effects. We have never observed any burns or skin lesions. It should be noted that scientific research has shown that a poor-quality LED can have a harmful effect, namely damaging the quality of collagen.

Unlike medical LEDs and other high-performance devices like those used in clinics, which stimulate cellular activity, it is therefore not recommended to use commercially available LEDs at home or small, low-quality LEDs.

We can analyze your skin and simulate the benefits of LED and B-SKIN treatments using the VISIA scanner. Don't hesitate to contact us for a complete assessment.

THE DIFFERENT LEDS

A story of wavelength and color

The red LED (630nm) acts at a depth of 5mm and is therefore effective on the dermis. Its main function is an anti-inflammatory effect and it stimulates neocollagenesis.

Yellow LED , its action is to stimulate the healing mechanisms.

Blue LED (410-415 nm) acts primarily on the pilosebaceous follicle (the hair and the sweat gland). While it stimulates healing, its main effect is to sterilize Propionibacterium acnes, which plays a known role in inflammatory acne.

Infrared LEDs penetrate deeper, to about 1 cm. They have a scientifically proven healing effect. In addition to this effect, research has shown an improvement in mood, likely due to the action of infrared light on bone, and an improvement in cerebral blood flow, particularly in the frontal lobes.

LED treatments available at RIVIERACLINIC

We have a high-end medical LED at the clinic.

Indeed, the results depend on the LED's power but also on the machine's computer algorithm. Therefore, a small, commercially available LED will not produce the desired effect that we achieve at the laser center. The LED's effectiveness thus depends on its power, the quality of the device, the duration of the sessions, the area exposed, and whether the application sequence is continuous or intermittent, or even the combination of several lights within the same session.

It is therefore possible to combine protocols that act both on healing and on the anti-inflammatory aspect of this method.
