BEAUTIFY THE SKIN BY RESTORING ITS COMPLEXION
Say goodbye to brown spots and redness.
Today, 3 procedures allow you to improve skin tone: laser, peels, microdermabrasion.
Doctor Smarrito He shares his experience to help you choose the best procedure. These three procedures—peels, laser, and microdermabrasion—are in high demand in aesthetic medicine due to their... excellent resultFrom a theoretical point of view, the effects are similar, as are the objectives and results obtained. Indeed, it involves "stripping" the skin superficially, but also slightly deeper depending on the laser, peel, or microdermabrasion used.
First and foremost, as always in aesthetic medicine, what is important is the diagnosis based on the clinician's experience.
We will identify the spots using a computer analysis of your face, available in our centers. RIVIERAclinic. Sunspots are often numerous and rather light in color.
Skin tone: Lasers to restore skin tone…
The demand for an even skin tone and the removal of blemishes has been revolutionized in our practice and experience by the use of the Picosure laser . Indeed, by scanning the skin, the laser allows us to eliminate age spots on the forehead, décolleté, or hands, and also to even out skin tone.
This laser was originally a laser for tattoo removal; the new generations of lasers have the advantage of having very precise targeting on the spots, delivering high energy while having a photomechanical rather than photo-thermal effect; in this sense, the heat around the laser impact is low and therefore the risks to the skin (change of color, hyperpigmentation, or even burns are excluded).
This treatment is generally performed on an outpatient basis in a clinic setting, without any downtime. We often combine this treatment with a complementary LED session to stimulate the skin's energy activity at the cellular level, or even with an expert treatment to nourish the skin.
In one to three sessions, the effect is often very noticeable on all blemishes. This is why picosecond lasers are the best-selling lasers in Asia. We can attest to this following our conferences, particularly in South Korea. Our patients want a clear, even very clear, complexion without blemishes and skin that retains its radiance.

Microdermabrasion has been around for many years. It should not be confused with dermabrasion, which is a surgical procedure requiring anesthesia. This other technique removes superficial layers of skin very aggressively in the operating room.
We are talking about mechanized microdermabrasion; we have been using a specific device at the laser center for many years. RIVIERAclinicThis mechanically purifies the skin, removing the superficial layer that is at the end of the skin cycle; dead cells on the surface are eliminated, this also reduces fine lines and can affect the radiance of the skin.
This treatment is part of the expert care developed by the RIVIERAclinic, it will thus be combined with other treatments in particular to hydrate and plump the superficial layer of the skin whether it be Filorga NCTF serums containing hyaluronic acid and nutrients as well as amino acids or skin boosters which allow water to be attracted to the skin thanks to a very low and non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid.
It is therefore possible at present to get rid of unsightly spots and even out skin tone in a few sessions mainly thanks to the technological revolution of picosecond lasers.
Skin tone: Peels, in moderation…
Peels (note that some peels are specifically used in this application) allow for depigmentation of the skin.
It is possible to achieve good results, but only if the pigment spots are light in color and not very diffuse. Generally, peels are composed of either phenol or glycolic acid, also known as fruit acid. Peels are usually performed on a large area, such as the face (protecting the eyes) or the décolleté. This procedure is performed without anesthesia and is done in the office.
The acid applied to the skin causes a chemical reaction . During the session, the patient usually feels a tingling sensation, and after a few minutes, the doctor or assistant neutralizes the effect of the peel by applying another product. There is intense redness, which over time evolves to a whiter appearance. It is essential to use restorative creams for one week, along with sun protection.
The after-effects will be characterized by what is called desquamation, meaning that the superficial layers of skin are shed in flakes. The extent of this shedding varies depending on the depth of the peel. Following this session, the skin becomes rosy and the complexion evens out; sunspots and fine lines are also diminished.
In a way, the skin benefits from the radiant glow seen in magazines. This is an interesting step in the process of facial aesthetic rejuvenation. In our experience, we limit the use of peels. Indeed, our philosophy is more about targeted action on blemishes and uneven skin tone using the new generation of picosecond lasers combined with rehydration (essentially nourishing the skin rather than damaging it).
As you may have guessed, we do few peels but many laser treatments.
